AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY Tuesday, August 19, 2008

I'm traumatized.
Yesterday, during the break between end of school and start of chinese remedial, I was reading the sports news.
And, as always, there was a big picture of Michael Phelps celebrating after winning his eighth gold.
And Claudia, the absolutely, uh, hormone filled Claudia, comes over and says something along the lines of "is this the guy that won eight medals?"
And of course I reply, "yeah."
And she looks at his picture again, and she says in a very...uh....suggestive tone..."Oh, so sexy."
COUGH COUGH COUGH.
(sorry claudia, but) SHE CAN'T EVEN PRONOUNCE HIS NAME PROPERLY!
One minute it's "Phlelps", and the next it's "Phlaps" and next it's "Pelps"!
I was hyperventilating, I tell you, while she went on about how perfect he was and how she wanted him for her birthday.
And the scariest thing is, most people in my class, and probably in the school, agree with her!
On his *COUGH COUGH* uh...appeal, that is. Not how to pronounce his name.
Celine (no offence here either) ALSO said that he's *ahem* hot...and when one of her friends was busy searching for his pictures at the library's computer, she went to "ogle" (as she said) at the pictures too.
And then they were arguing about who was to be Mrs Phelps!
And then, when I told Arunima about the whole episode, she tells me her friends are crazy as well, and gives me a gushing episode of "His face is "hot". His body is "hotter". I could stare at his abs all day." !!! (Although she says she didn't mean it, I have a sneaking suspicion she does.)
I don't get the craze, really. I mean, so what if he has an impressive muscular physique? He's got a dopey face and big ears that make him look like a monkey. And even the papers described him as "an american with a sad haircut". No offence to all Phelps fans out there. The only good attribute that he's got is his muscular physique. As Le Yan said, he's 100% muscle. 0% fat.
But aren't there others that are more muscular than him? What about those bodybuilders? I mean, they gotta be a helluva lot more tougher than him. And maybe some are better looking too. Although I can't recall seeing a good looking bodybuilder ever. But that's out of point.

So...forgive my rambling. What I really wanted to say was how unlucky I've been for the past few days. On monday, yesterday, I was, as usual, throwing and catching my pencil case. We were walking from the DnT room. And I threw it up, and the sun blinded me. I was frantically waving my hands to find my pencil case, and that was when I found it.
Thwack!! Something landed on the back of my head. Spot on. My pencil case. WHat a way to find something you lost.
Then, today, I was flying the kite. Yeah, there's this science mini task thing about traditional games, so my group did a kite. It was during maths. I figured that I've done a lot of unorthodox, breaking-the-rule stuff during maths, like smsing or sleeping or writing, but I've never flown a kite. So I flew the kite. Or at least attemted to fly. On the first try it flew for a few seconds. On the second try it didn't. On the third try...it flew up and whacked me on the side of the head.
Oh, and not to mention that on Monday, someone (was it Eme or Gen?) tried to glomp me from behind, and managed to knock my glasses askew and poke my eye.
And today I was inserting my thumb drive into the laptop (the USB port is behind) and I knocked my head on my desk (there's a shelf on top).
Jeez.
And to top it all off, the "P" key on my dad's laptop has dropped off, leaving only a black rubbery thingy behind.
If one more thing happens to me, I'll eat my hat.
Although I don't have any hats to eat.

~Today in History~
NEW SECTION! This is gonna tell you exactly what happened on this very special day. And today it's...
1942: Operation Jubilee was launched. It was a Canadian raid against Dieppe. The raid failed dismally. Half of the force (that's 3000 odd men) were casualties or MIA. It later influenced planning for OPERATION OVERLORD. (THAT'S D-DAY!)

~Quote of the Day~
Germany is not a warlike nation. It is a soldiery one, which means it does not want a war, but does not fear it. It loves peace, but also loves its honor and freedom.
-Adolf Hitler, showing the world how big a liar he is. I mean was.
